y.pottery (y.pots) is created by Yukiko Hiromatsu, London based potter/designer.

I create one-off pieces and a small collection of wheel thrown stoneware and porcelain tableware. Each piece is designed, hand thrown and finished from start to finish, with utmost care. 

My education and experience in fine art and mens tailoring influences my sensibility in creating my works. Attention to detail and small differences create an understated elegance which is the hallmark of good tailoring and which follows through in my pottery practice.

I love making pots which I would like to have in my everyday life. I aim to make special pieces one by one, each having its own quality, attentive to subtle nuances of form and surface, and which are cohesive when collected together.
